Stars Win Series Opener With Generals
July 19, 2012 - Southern League (SL) Huntsville Stars
The Huntsville Stars opened up a four-game series and a nine-game roadtrip with a 8-3 victory against the Jackson Generals on Thursday night. Huntsville got a dazzling performance from starting pitcher Josh Stinson, who gave up just three runs on seven hits while pitching a season-high eight innings. On offense, the Stars offense was fueled by a four-run fourth inning and a 2-run homer by catcher Adam Weisenburger in the sixth inning.The Stars will play game two of a four-game series on Saturday as they send Evan Anundsen (5-5, 4.68 ERA) to face off against Generals starter Tijuan Walker (5-5, 4.62 ERA). First pitch is at 7:05 PM.
