RedHawks Beat AirHogs 15-9 for Ninth Straight Victory

Fargo, ND - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks hit a season-high 21 hits as a team enroute to their ninth straight win in a 15-9 victory over the Grand Prairie AirHogs on July 12, 2012 at Newman Outdoor Field.Eight different players had multi-hit games for the RedHawks. Buddy Sosnoskie went 3-for-6 and hit the eventual winning run on an RBI double in the fifth and Nic Jackson went 2-for-4 and followed Sosnoskie with a three-run home run to extend a RedHawks lead to 13-8 after five innings.
Grand Prairie had early success off RedHawks starter Aaron Shafer and knocked him out of the game in the fourth. The AirHogs were up 2-0 in the top of the first after a single by Andres Rodriguez scored Yasutsugu Nishimoto and Bryan Frichter. The AirHogs scored four more runs in the fourth after a Greg Porter RBI single, a two-run double David Thomas double, and a sacrifice fly by Nishimoto send the RedHawks to the bullpen down 6-8.
Mike Zenko, Joe Harris and Kyle Dahman combined to pitch 5 1/3 innings of relief for Fargo-Moorhead giving up one earned run on two hits, three walks with two strikeouts. Zenko improved his record to 3-1 after replacing Shafer in the fourth.
AirHogs starter Josh Strawn (6-1) picked up his first loss of the season after throwing 4 2/3 innings giving up 10 earned runs on 12 hits, three walks with two strikeouts. The RedHawks tagged the Grand Prairie bullpen for five more runs in the final 3 1/3 innings.
Ryan Delgado was 4-for-5 with a double, Zach Penprase went 3-for-6 with two runs, and Carlo Cota was 3-for-5 with two doubles for Fargo-Moorhead (30-21).
Bryan Frichter batted 2-for-5 with an RBI groundout in the second and Trent Lockwood went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in seventh for Grand Prairie (37-15).
