Jr. RiverHawks Holding Tryouts August 7-8

July 12, 2012 - Frontier League (FL) Rockford RiverHawks

Jr. RiverHawks holding tryouts August 7-8 LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Jr. RiverHawks baseball program will be holding tryouts for their fall 2012 and summer 2013 baseball teams from August 7-8 at RiverHawks Stadium.

The tryouts will be from 5:30-8 p.m. on those days. The fall season will run from mid-August through late October with a total of 7-9 tournaments per team. All tournaments will be local and have minimal travel. The summer season will run from June through August and also have 7-9 tournaments per team and have minimal travel.

This year we are expanding our teams to three teams and they will look as follows for the fall:

-15 U (incoming 14-year-olds), coached by Rockford Christian Varsity Coach McClellan

-17 U (incoming 15, 16, 17 year-olds), coached by Coach Barrone

-17 U (incoming 15, 16, 17 year-olds) coached by Coach Small

The only change in the summer is that Coach Small will be coaching a 16 U team, and coach Barrone's team will be 17 U.

As always during the fall, we expect several players to be committed to their respective high school football teams. However, with the Jr. RiverHawks playing games on Saturdays and Sundays, the coaches feel they can work with football players' schedules and football players are welcome to tryout.

If you have any more questions regarding the tryouts or teams, please call the RiverHawks' office at 815-885-2255 or Coach Small at 815-980-6219

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, an independent professional baseball league in its 20th season. Games are broadcast on NTA-FM (100.5) Advertising and ticket information is available by calling (815) 885-2255. Fans can also visit www.rockfordriverhawks.com .
