Trimboli's Single Gives Racers Lead, Bandits Fall 3-2

July 7, 2012 - National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) Chicago Bandits

ROSEMONT, Ill. - After taking game two against Akron Friday night, the teams met again in game three Saturday night at the Ballpark at Rosemont.

The Bandits got down to business early on, as they jumped out to a 2-0 advantage in the first inning, however they were unable to hold onto the lead falling to the Racers 3-2.

Amber Patton opened the first inning with a single up the middle and scored one pitch later as Alisa Goler hit a big double down the left field line. Adrienne Monka continued the rally with her short blooper to left field, scoring Goler and giving the Bandits a 2-0 lead heading into the second.

In the circle for the Bandits was Michelle Moses, who earned her second NPF start on the year. Hillary Bach, who is now 3-3 on the year, picked up the win for the Racers pitching all seven innings.

Moses started off strong for the Bandits, keeping the Racers off base through the first two innings. However, in the top of the third Akron was able to string three consecutive singles and tie the game 2-2. Later in the inning, Nicole Trimboli's single brought Megan Bush home from second tacking on another run and giving the Racers a 3-2 lead.

The Bandits bats were still hot in the fourth as Monka singled up the middle and was sent to third off Butler's deep double to left. However, Chicago was unable to take advantage of the base runners, as they fall with a couple groundouts ending the inning with the Racers holding onto a one run lead.

Moses recorded two 1-2-3 innings in the fourth and fifth inning but after walking two batters in the sixth, Nikki Nemitz took over the mound for the Bandits and after a nice play by Megan Wiggins throwing out the runner at home, the Bandits were able to escape the inning without allowing any runs.

The Bandits we unable to put any more runs across in the seventh as Moses retired the batters in order, ending the game 3-2.

The Bandits and Racers will play the fourth and final game of the series tomorrow, July 8 with first pitch set for 5:35 pm.

Tickets for that game are now on sale and can be purchased online or by calling the box office at 877-722-6348.
