Tri-City ValleyCats News Release

TROY, NY- This Monday, July 9, the Tri-City ValleyCats will be giving away Governor Andrew Cuomo bobbleheads to the first 1,500 fans through the gates as part of We Love New York Night at "The Joe," presented by Cocca's Hotels.

On that night, the ValleyCats will pay tribute to the great state of New York with great food, unique on-field promotions, fun facts and family friendly activities.

The ValleyCats have a long tradition of making political figures famous through their set of bobblehead dolls. Past bobbleheads include former New York State Governor David Paterson, First Lady Michelle Obama, Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings, former Troy Mayor Harry Tutunjian, former Schenectady Mayor Brian Stratton and Rensselaer County Executive Kathy Jimino.

Cuomo became Governor of New York in 2011 after serving as the state Attorney General since 2007. Born in Queens, NY, Cuomo graduated from Albany Law School in 1982 and was a top aide to his father Mario during his campaign for Governor.

The game of baseball is a part of the Cuomo family, as Andrew's father played Minor League Baseball in the Pittsburgh Pirates system and later became a scout for the team.
