Govett Named Chairperson of the NLL's Board of Governors

June 29, 2012 - National Lacrosse League (NLL) Colorado Mammoth

DENVER - The National Lacrosse League announced that Colorado Mammoth president & general manager Steve Govett has been named the Chairperson of the league's Board of Governors. As such, his responsibilities include serving in a consultative role to NLL Commissioner George Daniel and evaluating new business and strategic opportunities for the league as a whole.

"I am flattered that my peers have elected me to represent the NLL in this capacity," said Govett. "As the Chairperson, my goal is to strengthen all nine franchises and ensure the long-term vitality of the oldest and most respected professional lacrosse league in the world."

Govett will maintain his current role with the Mammoth during his tenure as Chairperson.

The Board of Governors elects a new chairperson and vice-chairperson annually. Govett's league position was formerly held by Minnesota Swarm owner and president John Arlotta.
