The Prince George Cougars Alumni/Hospital Pro-Am Golf Tournament provides a unique opportunity for fans and businesses to interact with some of their favorite Prince George Cougars players from the past. It also provides the alumni with an opportunity to get together and reminisce about their time in Prince George.

"The Prince George Cougars are so pleased to welcome the Cougars alumni back to Prince George," said Prince George Cougars Vice President Brandi Brodsky. "We're so happy to be joining forces with the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation to make this event possible for our fans and for our alumni."

Brodsky adds, "We feel that this event will provide a great opportunity to raise money for a truly worth-while cause, while also reuniting fans with their favorite Prince George Cougars players from the past."

"We were thrilled to be invited to participate in this tournament," said the Chief Executive Officer for the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, Don Gowan. "Not only was it a great chance to introduce a new format to our historical Hospital Pro Am Charity Golf Tournament, but also a great opportunity to work closer with the Prince George Cougars and try to reconnect some of the Cougar Alumni back to our community."

An event like this would not be possible without the generous support from local sponsors. Telus is proud to be the title sponsor of the Prince George Cougars Alumni/Hospital Pro-Am Golf Tournament.

"We are very grateful to have Telus join us as the presenting sponsor," adds Don Gowan. "They are a great corporate partner and were more than happy to jump on board with the knowledge that their contribution will be used to help purchase equipment that has been identified as very helpful in the event of another emergency like the recent Lakeland Mill fire."

Other major sponsors include: Remax Centre City Realty, the Prince George Golf and Curling Club, Splash Media Group Inc., Scotia Bank and Earls.

Several prominent Prince George Cougars alumni players have confirmed their attendance including: Dan Hamhuis (1998-2002), Jonathan Filewich (1999-2004), Ronald Petrovicky (1994-1997), Nick Drazenovic (2002-2007) and Eric Hunter (2002-2007).

"Playing in Prince George was a great experience for me," said Vancouver Canucks defenceman and Prince George Cougars Alumnus, Dan Hamhuis. "I look forward to the chance to come back to the community and be a part of the first annual Prince George Cougars Alumni golf tournament."
