PACKIN' THEM IN: With 9,051 in attendance, it marked the largest crowd for a Red Wings game since Opening Day vs. Buffalo (Mets), when 12,371 came through the turnstiles.
A COUPLE OF GOOSE EGGS: The Red Wings posted their 3rd shut-out win in the first game of the doubleheader...they then suffered their 5th shut-out loss in the 2nd game.
HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS: The Red Wings are 17-15 at Frontier Field, including a 13-11 mark as the home team.
LOW FIVE: The Wings have scored 5 runs or less in 47 of their 54 games.
EXTRA! EXTRA!: The Red Wings have recorded at least one extra-base hit in 29 consecutive games, their longest such streak in one season since April 16-May 16, 2010, when they had a 30-game streak.
LUKE NUKEM : Luke French earned his first win with the Red Wings in the first game of the doubleheader despite issuing 5 walks in 5.0 innings...he allowed 3 hits and struck out 2, picking up his first victory since April 15 with Double-A New Britain at New Hampshire...14 of the 28 hits he's allowed this season are extra-base hits (10 doubles, one triple, and 3 home runs).
MAKING CONTACT: In the first game of the doubleheader, Wilkin Ramirez recorded his first extra-base hit in 10 contests...he also recorded his first RBI in 10 contests.
THIRD TIMES THE CHARM: Tsuyoshi Nishioka tagged just his 3rd extra-base hit of the season with a 6th-inning double in the first game of the doubleheader...the other 2 were a triple April 20 vs. Lehigh Valley (Phillies) and a home run May 19 vs. Gwinnett (Braves)
LEADER OF THE PACK: Matt Carson has hit safely in 12 of his last 15 games with an at-bat, batting .319 (15-for-47)...has also hit safely in 22 of his last 26 games with an at-bat (.310, 26-for-84).
VOTE FOR PEDRO: Pedro Florimon has hit safely in 19 of his 26 games since joining the Wings going 26-for-100 (.260) in that span.
