PREVIEW: After last night's scheduled game was washed out, the Shorebirds and Suns will play a doubleheader on Saturday night. With 17 games remaining in the first half of the season, the Shorebirds are 17.0 games out of first place. The team has lost seven games in a row and 10 of their last 11.
3RD DOUBLEHEADER: Tonight is the third doubleheader for the Shorebirds this season. They split with Asheville on April 7 and they split with Greensboro on May 24.
GLYNN DAVIS ON TEAR: Glynn Davis is 9-for-15 in his last four games played (.600). He has multiple hits in each of the last four games. Davis' batting average has jumped from .243 to .271 during the stretch.
ZACH FOWLER'S SCORELESS STREAK: Zach Fowler has not allowed an earned run in his last 8.1 innings pitched (five outings). His ERA has gone from 11.25 to 3.65 during the stretch.
STRIKING MONTH SPLITS: The Shorebirds went 13-11 in April and 8-21 in May. The Shorebirds hit .260 in April and .217 in May. The pitching staff ERA was 3.22 in April and 4.35 in May.
JUSTIN MOORE JOINS TEAM: Justin Moore was added to the roster on Thursday and made his first start for the Shorebirds. In four innings, he allowed six hits and earned runs. Eduardo Rodriguez was placed on the Temporary Inactive List.
OFFENSE ON DECLINE: The Shorebirds have scored just 15 runs in their last 11 games (1.36 per game). The Shorebirds have not scored more than three runs in the last 11 games and have scored one or fewer in five of the 11 games. The Shorebirds have been shutout in three of their last six games. The Shorebirds have 43 hits in their last 11 games (3.9 per game).
