Dayton Dragons News Release

DAYTON, OHIO-The Dayton Dragons announced the following roster changes today:

Right-handed pitcher Cole Green has been promoted to Dayton from extended spring training.

Catcher/first baseman Danny Vicioso has been promoted from Dayton to Bakersfield (California League).

The Dragons roster remains at the Midwest League limit of 25 players.

A new roster is attached.

Green was a ninth round draft pick by the Cincinnati Reds in 2011 out of the University of Texas, where he earned the Big 12 Pitcher of the Year award as a junior in 2010.

In 2011, Green was 8-4 with a 3.14 earned run average for the fifth-ranked Longhorns and earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors. He was highly-instrumental in Texas' run to the College World Series. He beat Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Tournament on May 27, 2011. In his next start on June 5 in the NCAA Regional, he fired eight strong innings in an elimination game against Texas State, allowing just two runs in a Texas win, then came back the very next day to throw a scoreless inning out of the bullpen in a Texas victory against Kent State that lifted the Longhorns to the Super Regional. In his next start on June 11, he was the starting and winning pitcher in game two of the Super Regional against Arizona State when he allowed one run in five innings, another elimination game for Texas. His next start came on June 20 vs. North Carolina in the College World Series, a game that Texas lost 3-0 to end their season.

After signing with the Reds in 2011, Green was 4-1 with a 4.24 earned run average with Billings. He has not pitched in 2012.

Vicioso has appeared in 28 games for the Dragons, batting .220 with no home runs and four runs batted in.

The Dragons play at West Michigan today at 1:00 p.m.
