BayBears Take Second Straight over Smokies

The Mobile BayBears picked up their second straight win defeating the Tennessee Smokies 8-6 at Hank Aaron Stadium Wednesday night. The Smokies took an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first but the BayBears rallied with four runs of their own in the bottom half of the frame. The early run support by Mobile backed right-handed pitcher Michael Bolsinger who earned his first Double-A win.The Smokies scored three runs in the first inning starting with a leadoff single from Jim Adduci who crossed the plate later in the inning on a sacrifice fly. Rebel Ridling added a two-run home run to make it 3-0 to get the Smokies out to the lead. The BayBears answered back with a four runs in the bottom of the first inning, highlighted by Matt Davidson's three-run homer to make it a 4-3 game.
Mobile added twoo runs in the bottom of the third when Rossmel Perez delivered a two-run scoring single. Alfredo Marte capped the BayBear scoring in the fourth inning with a two-run home run giving Mobile an 8-5 lead.
The BayBear bullpen gave up one run in the seventh inning with a solo home run from Ja-Hoon Ha but held the Smokies scoreless over the final two frames to preserve the two-run win. Bolsinger pitched five innings, allowing five runs on six hits in route to his first win with the BayBears. Evan Marshall recorded his ninth save of the year after pitching a scoreless ninth inning. With the win the BayBears remain 2.5 games ahead of the Montgomery Biscuits for first place in the Southern League Standings.
Mobile and Tennessee continue their series Thursday night, May24, with first pitch in game three of the five game set scheduled for 7:05 PM. RHP Derek Eitel (3-3, 4.96) will go to the hill for the BayBears. RHP Dallas Beeler (1-3) will make the start for the Smokies.
