----- Tonight, the SeaWolves look to build upon last night's thrilling win as they take on the Reading Phillies (Philadelphia Phillies) in the third game of a four-game series at Jerry Uht Park. Last night, the 'Wolves snapped a four-game losing streak with an 8-7 victory over Reading. Erie allowed a seven-run lead evaporate but won the ballgame in the bottom of the ninth on a Tony Plagman base hit. The Plagman hit completed the his night of hitting for the cycle, a feat that had not been accomplished by a SeaWolves hitter since 2008 (Casper Wells)...Tonight, James Avery takes the mound for the SeaWolves making his ninth start of the season and his first against the Phillies. Avery took a loss in his last start despite a quality outing. He has alternated wins and losses in his last four starts. In his last start at Altoona, Avery allowed three runs on six hits with a walk and six strikeouts in 7.2 innings of work. Erie lost the game 3-2...The Phillies send righty David Buchanan to the mound making his ninth start and second against the SeaWolves. Buchanan has dropped his last four and five of his last six starts. The SeaWolves beat Buchanan on May 6 at First Energy Stadium. That day, the right-hander allowed a season-high nine runs, eight earned, on eight hits with three walks and two strikeouts in five innings of work. He took a loss against New Britain in his last outing on May 18, allowing four runs on eight hits with no walks and four strikeouts in seven innings.

Reading is the top hitting team in the EL with a .284 team average. - Niuman Romero leads the league with 56 hits.. Romero is also the second-toughest hitter to strike out in the league, striking out just once every 11.18 plate appearances.

----- The SeaWolves will host the SeaWolves Bowling Bash at Greengarden Lanes on Thursday, June 21. The bowling fundraiser will take place from 6 pm - 8:30 pm with proceeds benefiting United Way of Erie County. - The event will feature SeaWolves players, one at each bowling lane, interacting with event guests, signing autographs, and posing for pictures. The event will also include door prizes and a memorabilia silent auction. - Each participant will receive up to three games of bowling, shoe rental, a raffle ticket, and pizza, for a registration fee of $25.
