Rosario Seals the Deal with Solo Homer, Snappers Win 5-2

Beloit, WI- Eddie Rosario sealed the deal for the Snappers with a solo homer in the bottom of the eighth inning. The Beloit Snappers beat the Clinton LumberKings for the third day in a row, 5-2 Monday night at Pohlman Field.
Snappers' starter, Steven Gruver picked up the win delivering six and a third innings, allowing six hits and two runs, while striking out four. After a two-run top of the first for Clinton, Gruver calmed down not allowing a run after that. The LumberKings scored in the top of the first on a two RBI single by Guillermo Pimentel.
In the bottom of the second, the Snappers had a four-run inning with nearly every batter reaching base. Adam Bryant hit a leadoff single to start the hot streak. Jhon Goncalves singled, A. J. Pettersen and Wang-Wei Lin hit back to back doubles, and J.D. Williams hit an RBI single putting the Snappers up 4-2.
Clinton's starter, Stephen Landazuri was pulled after three short innings, allowing seven hits and four runs, while striking out four. In relief, Clinton allowed just one run and four hits.
Beloit added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth with a solo homer by Eddie Rosario.
Bart Carter pitched two and a third innings for Beloit, allowing one hit and no runs, while striking out four. Clinton Dempster picked up his third save of the season pitching the top of the ninth delivering one strikeout.
The Snappers finish up their series with the LumberKings Tuesday night at 6:30 P.M. On the mound is Snappers' Tim Shibuya vs. LumberKings' Jordan Shipers.
