BayBears Roll Over BiscuitsApril 15, 2012 - Southern League (SL) Mobile BayBears
Every batter in the BayBear line up recorded a hit against the Biscuits. Rossmel Perez had a game-high four hits in five at bats, crossing the plate for two runs. Matt Davidson added to the offense, posting two hits in three at bats while drawing two walks. Raoul Torrez smashed his first home run of the year with a two-run shot in the top of the seventh inning. Mobile finished with a season high 11 runs and 15 hits.
The high octane offense allowed the BayBears pitching staff to breathe easy and keep the Biscuits limited to just three runs on eight hits. Shane Dyer suffered the loss for Montgomery allowing the three runs in the first inning when he exited after tossing just 19 pitches in the top half of the first. The Biscuits best pitching performance came from one of their position players, Greg Sexton. Entering the game in the start of the eighth inning, Sexton allowed just one hit in two innings of work. Mobile meanwhile, was able to preserve most of their bullpen, as Bryan Henry relieved Bauer in the sixth and finished the finale four frames.
Mobile and Montgomery continue their five game set, with game two of the series Monday night at 7:05 PM. BayBears RHP Charles Brewer (0-0) will square off against the Biscuits RHP Jim Paduch (0-1). The BayBears will return home, Friday April 20, when they open their second home stand of the season matching up with the Jacksonville Suns.
