Nugget Goes Rogue in Pursuit of Game #6 Sellout

April 9, 2012 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Rapid City Rush News Release

(Rapid City, SD) - In a bizarre twist, the Rapid City Rush organization is in the midst of a crisis as one of its employees is aiming to sabotage tomorrow's pregame ceremony. Nugget, the Rush mascot, has stolen the official 'Best Fans in the CHL' banner and taken it hostage on the roof of the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. The organization planned on unveiling the banner prior to Tuesday's game #6 which is set for Tuesday, April 10th at 6:35pm.

When reached for comment, Nugget issued this statement:

"The team was able to stay alive after a tremendous win in Fort Wayne on Sunday, and now Rush nation needs to respond with a sellout at Tuesday's game#6. Until we pack the house, I will stay atop the Civic Center and will not release the banner! I am doing whatever it takes. Will you Rush fans -

Rush General Manager Tim Hill, responding to the threats, stated:

"Although I am frustrated with Nugget's actions, I do applaud his dedication to our organization; it is up to the fans now!"

Fans can purchase tickets by calling the Rush office at 716-7825 or online at www.gotmine.com. The Rushmore Plaza Civic Center box office is also open beginning at 10am.
