Omaha Storm Chasers News Release

PAPILLION, Neb. - The Omaha Storm Chasers let a 2-0 lead slip away and eventually fell to the Albuquerque Isotopes, 5-2 on Friday night. Starter Vin Mazzaro pitched well but did not factor into the decision with his six scoreless innings on the mound as he punched out six Isotope batters.

Both offenses were held in check as both teams failed to scratch out a run in the first 4.5 innings until a Tony Abreu home run sailed over the left field wall to put the Storm Chasers ahead, 1-0.

Speedy center fielder, Jarrod Dyson led off the sixth with a single and promptly stole second base. Dyson crossed home plate several batters later on an RBI double by Kevin Kouzmanoff.

Sean O'Sullivan came out of the bullpen in the seventh inning in relief of Mazzaro. O'Sullivan only lasted a third of an inning and was tagged for a total of four runs. Brandon Sisk was then summoned from the "˜pen to replace O'Sullivan and gave up one run in his 1.1 innings of work. Roman Colon worked the game's final 1.1 innings and did not give up a run.

Despite the loss, Abreu dazzled at the plate, going 3-4 with a homer and a triple to his credit.

The Storm Chasers and the Isotopes will meet again on Saturday, April 7 with the first pitch at Werner Park scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Saturday's contest is a Hit the Books game presented by the Nebraska Educational Savings Trust and Outback Steakhouse. Replica paperweights of the Storm Chasers' 2011 Pacific Coast League Championship ring will also be given away to the first 2,500 fans that arrive for Saturday's game thanks to Hebrew National.
