
Chiefs Win Game Three 3-2, Game Four Wednesday at Home

Spokane fought their way back into the first round playoff series with a hard fought 3-2 win over the Vancouver Giants to make the series 2-1 in favor of Vancouver. Eric Williams' strong play throughout the game earned him the night's first star after making 26 saves on the night.
The Chiefs came out strong early in the first period scoring just 3:48 into the period on a shot from the left face-off circle by Reid Gow with the set up by Steven Kuhn.
Spokane leaned heavily on their goaltender for much of the first period, with Williams stopping all 13 shots he faced.
Blake Gal added to the Chiefs lead at 16:57 of the first blasting a shot into the top corner from 20 feet out. It was Gal's second of the post-season.
Vancouver scored the lone goal of the second period by Cain Franson at 3:48 on a scrambled play in front of the Chiefs net that drew net minder Eric Williams out of the net.
The Chiefs were able to score in the third period thanks to a point shot from Corbin Baldwin, with Todd Fiddler and Gal picking up assists. Gal's two points on the evening makes him the Chiefs leading scorer with five points.
Vancouver was able to make it interesting scoring at 17:30 of the third on a long shot by Brendan Gallaher. The Giants however were unable to muster any more offense and despite pulling their goalie for the last 55 seconds of the game.
Spokane outshot Vancouver 28-27 and finished the game 0-5 on the power play and 2-2 on the penalty kill. The Chiefs and Giants square of tomorrow evening for game four with the puck dropping at 7:05.
