Chris King Introduced as Voice of the Dust Devils

January 13, 2012 - Northwest League (NWL) Tri-City Dust Devils

The Tri-City Dust Devils have announced that Chris King will be the team's new radio play-by-play announcer. King is a Washington State University graduate and is currently the play-by-play announcer for Boise State University women's basketball.

King has spent three of the last four summers broadcasting in the Northwest for the Wenatchee AppleSox of the West Coast League. He has also broadcast high school athletics on radio and television throughout the state of Washington since 2006.

"Returning to my home state of Washington to join the Dust Devils is a great thrill," said King. "I grew up going to Northwest League games and I couldn't be more excited to be announcing at this level. I know the Dust Devils have a history of providing an excellent broadcast and I'm excited to carry on that tradition."

"We feel that Chris is a perfect fit to be the Voice of the Dust Devils," said Vice President/General Manager Derrel Ebert. "He's an enthusiastic young broadcaster that our fans are going to love."

Jason Schwartz, who was the Dust Devils' broadcaster in 2011, is the new broadcaster for the Lancaster JetHawks of the California League.

All 76 Dust Devils games are broadcast live on Newstalk 870 AM, and available online at www.dustdevilsbaseball.com and newstalk870.am.

The Dust Devils' 2012 season begins on June 15th against the Everett AquaSox. Ticket packages are on sale now and start at just $49, with full-season tickets available for as low as $259. Special ticket rates are available for groups of 20 or more.
