Fort Wayne Komets' Nick Boucher Leads \'Oakley Three Stars' for December

GLENDALE, AZ (January 6, 2012) -Fort Wayne Komets goaltender Nick Boucher, Rapid City Rush forward Jesse Schultz and Bloomington Blaze forward Vladimir Nikiforov have been named the "˜Oakley Three Stars "˜ for the month of December/2011.

For winning the "˜Oakley Three Star Player of the Month' for December, Boucher will receive a special gift from Oakley. Learn more about Oakley's products at www.oakley.com.

Players are awarded five points for first star recognition, three points for a second star nod and a single point for being named the third star of the game. Keep up with the season-long standings and quest to be the Oakley Three Star Player of the Year at www.centralhockeyleague.com.

First Star - Nick Boucher, G, Fort Wayne Komets

Boucher finished the month with an incredible record of 10-1-1 in which he only went one game without getting a point for his team. He has been named the first star twice this month, the second star four times and the third star once (23 points). The Leduc, Alberta native leads all goaltenders in multiple categories including wins (18), G.A.A. (2.28), and save percentage (.922) and earlier this week was named the Sher-Wood/CHL Goaltender of the Month.

Second Star - Jesse Schultz, F, Rapid City Rush

Schultz finished the month with eight goals and 15 assists in 14 games played. He has been named a first star three times this month, the second star once and the third star twice (20 points). The Regina, Saskatchewan native is currently in his second year with the Rush and has found his place here as a scorer, sitting first place in the entire league with his 46 points (16-30F).

Third Star - Vladimir Nikiforov, F, Bloomington Blaze

Nikiforov finished December with nine goals and 11 assists in 15 games played. He has been named a first star three times this month, the second star once and the third star once as well. Nikiforov notched three game winning goals during this month and helped his team regain lost ground in the standings. The Hauppauge, New York native has 23 points (10-13=23) in 17 games with the Blaze this season.
