Comets to Host 1st Annual Blue Out Game

Tomorrow night at 7:35pm is the Comets' 1st Annual Blue-Out Game. Fans are encouraged to wear their Comets blue and the first 2,500 fans in the arena will receive a blue Comets T-shirt from Custom Graphics to help achieve the total Blue-Out effect in the arena.

In the final game of this 3 game home stand, the Missouri Comets will face the Norfolk SharX at the Independence Events Center. While the Comets are ending a three game home stand the SharX are ending a three game road trip. Both teams are looking to bounce back after a few rough losses. The Comets, who started off the season 3-0, lost to Baltimore and Milwaukee the same weekend.

The Norfolk SharX are one of 4 new expansion teams for the MISL this season. They have had a rough start sitting at 0-2, giving up at least 20 points in each contest and face the high powered offense of the Wichita Wings tonight. Even though the SharX have had struggles this season, they are not a team that should be looked over. The team has multiple veterans with many years of various levels of professional soccer experience. Two of those veterans are Matthew Delicate and Gerson dos Santos who both played for the USL Richmond Kickers last season. Delicate scored 10 goals in league play, and another three goals in US Open Cup action in 2011, while dos Santos scored twice in 19 games for the Kickers.

The Comets have multiple offensive weapons this year with 2 of the top 4 points leaders in Geison (17) and Vahid Assadpour (15) and defending MISL MVP, Byron Alvarez riding a 5 game point streak to start the season. They team will be looking to this offensive firepower to take advantage of the SharX early and control the tempo throughout the game.
