G-Braves Award Grant to Walton Animal GuildNovember 7, 2011 - International League (IL) Gwinnett Braves
Walton Animal Guild's Pet Food Pantry keeps families together by helping owners keep their pets happy and well-fed, regardless or economic challenges. WAG provides pet food through donations, collections and purchases. Items needed to stock the pantry include canned dog/cat food, dry dog/cat food, pet treats, cat litter, flea treatment, leashes, collars, feeding bowls and pet toys.
"The economy has hit not only people but pets as well," said WAG representative Karen Dean. "We are thrilled the Gwinnett Braves have acknowledged that by offering our organization this much-needed grant."
The Gwinnett Braves operate under the Atlanta Braves Foundation and award monthly grants to organizations in Gwinnett and its surrounding counties through this non-profit arm of the team. Each month has a designated theme, allowing the team to reach a diverse set of groups. Grant recipients receive a monetary donation, Gwinnett Braves tickets and opportunities year round to raise awareness for their cause in partnership with the Gwinnett Braves. Organizations interested in applying for a Gwinnett Braves grant can visit the Community page on gwinnettbraves.com for more information.
