Community Cares Initiative a Success

October 12, 2011 - Western Hockey League (WHL) Prince Albert Raiders

Prince Albert SK- The Prince Albert Raiders have successfully re-launched the "Community Cares" program to support underprivileged youth in Prince Albert.

Ashly Cabinets &Windows, Leon's Furniture, Scotiabank, Broda Construction, the Real Canadian Superstore and an anonymous donor have collaborated with the Prince Albert Raiders to donate 36 season tickets to underprivileged youth in Prince Albert. Through the "Community Cares" program implemented by the Raiders, businesses have the opportunity to donate season tickets to a youth oriented charitable organization of their choice.

"We are very happy with the success of the Community Cares program in the first year of its re-launch," said Raiders Business Manager and Marketing Director Bruce Vance. "We had several inquiries about the program this season which led us bring it back about halfway through June. The response from the corporate community was outstanding so we feel that this initiative has some real potential to expand into a long term program that benefits the entire community."

Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Ranch Ehrlo, Sundance Haven, Sunshine Haven, Children's Haven, Youth Outreach Centre, Foster Parent Association, Prince Albert Branch Association for Community Living, YWCA and the Saskatchewan Early Childhood Association have all received season tickets from the participating businesses.
