Sacramento tops Las Vegas for fifth win in a row

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Leadoff hitter Jermaine Mitchell extended his hitting streak to 16 games as Sacramento topped Las Vegas 5-1 before 10,638 fans Tuesday night at Raley Field. River Cats starter Tyson Ross allowed one run over 6.0 innings, striking out three and allowing five hits to earn the victory. Mitchell reached on a bunt single in the fourth inning and gave Sacramento a 1-0 lead later in the inning on a two-out single from Chris Carter. Mitchell added a two-run double in Sacramento's four-run fifth inning. Sacramento, the South Division champion, has won five games in a row and 13 of 16 overall.
