INDIANAPOLIS --Indianapolis Indians first baseman Matt Hague, along with former Tribe outfielder Alex Presley and former closer Tim Wood have been selected as members of the International League's 2011 Postseason All-Star Team. Hague was also voted to the IL's Midseason All-Star team earlier this season.

Hague, who was selected among the International League's top players for the first base position, currently leads the International League with 157 hits this year, and paces the league with 136 games played. He also becomes the first Indianapolis first baseman to make the IL Postseason All-Star Team since Roberto Petagine was honored in 1998.

Hague stands to break the Victory Field era record, going back to the opening of Victory Field in 1996, for games played in a single season. The Washington state native enters tonight three contests away from tying the top mark of 139 set by Brian Hunter in 1997.

The infielder was also selected to represent Indianapolis in the 2011 Triple-A All-Star Game in Salt Lake City, Utah earlier this year and ended up starting the game at first base for the International League squad. In that contest, Hague went 0-for-1 with a walk and a run scored in the International League's 3-0 victory over the Pacific Coast League.

Hague is currently hitting .306 with 67 runs, 36 doubles, three triples, 12 homers and 74 RBI in his first year at the Triple-A level after playing all of last season with Double-A Altoona. The infielder, who is in his fifth year with the Pirates' organization, was drafted by Pittsburgh in the ninth round of the 2008 draft.

Presley was chosen among the league's top players in the outfielders position and is the first Tribe outfielder to be recognized on the IL's Postseason All-Star Team since D.T. Cromer in 1999. Though the outfielder is currently with the Pirates, Presley stil leads the International League with a .333 batting average and paces the Indians with 22 stolen bases this year.

The Louisiana native also recorded eight home runs and drove in 41 RBI in his 87 games with Indianapolis this season. At the time of his promotion to Pittsburgh on July 27, the 25-year-old was first in the IL in hits (98), second in total bases (146), tied for third in batting average (.336) and steals (18), fourth in runs scored (52) and fifth in on-base percentage (.389).

It was Presley's second season with the Indians in 2011 after participating in 69 games for the Tribe last year.It is the outfielder's sixth year with the Pittsburgh organization after being selected in the eighth round of the 2006 draft by the Pirates.

Wood was honored as the International League's top relief pitcher for the 2011 season, becoming the first Tribe reliever to be selected to the league's Postseason All-Star team since Bob Scanlan in 2000. Wood, who is currently in the Texas Rangers organization, recorded 23 saves for Indianapolis this year in 26 save opportunities.

The right-hander in 40 appearances for the Tribe in 2011 compiled a 2.84 ERA and was even stronger in save situations this season. In those 26 opportunities, Wood recorded a 0.64 ERA, giving up just two earned runs in 28.1 innings pitched, while also holding opposing hitters to a .126 batting average.

2011 is the ninth professional season in Wood's career, with this year being his first with the Pirates' organization. Wood was originally drafted in the 44th round in 2002 by the Florida Marlins, where he had spent his previous eight years before signing with Pittsburgh as a free agent before the 2011 season.

Indianapolis was the only team to have three representatives recognized in a vote by the league's managers, coaches, media and club representatives. Louisville, Columbus and Gwinnett each had two players honored on the IL's Postseason All-Star Team.

Hague and his Tribe teammates will finish out the season with just four more home games at Victory Field and then two more road games against the Louisville Bats. Tickets for the final four contests of the 2011 season are available by going online at www.IndyIndians.com, calling the Victory Field Box Office at 317-269-2282 or visiting the Box Office at 501 W.
