Padres Win Home Finale

August 29, 2011 - Pacific Coast League (PCL) Tucson Padres

The Tucson Padres won their final home game of the 2011 season Sunday, beating Reno 6-4. The Aces entered play with a magic number of one and took a 3-0 lead early on Mark Hallberg's RBI double and Ryan Langerhans' two-run triple.

The Padres came back for the second time in two nights. After a run each in the third and fourth got Tucson within one, Matt Clark hit a three-run home run in the sixth to put the Padres in front. Padres reliever Greg Burke was able to hold Reno and leave the bases loaded one inning later in the seventh. Matt Buschmann pitched 6.1 innings and allowed four runs, while also contributing offensively with a hit, a stolen base and a run scored.

Anthony Rizzo was 2-for-3 with a double and a home run and now has 26 home runs and 101 RBIs in just 88 games. Clark was 3-for-4 with three RBIs. The Padres finished with a 35-37 home record and will play eight more games on the road before the season closes.
