Dayton Gems Announce Pair of Preseason Games

Dayton, Ohio - The Dayton Gems professional hockey team has released details on a pair of preseason exhibition games against division rival Fort Wayne Komets prior to the official start of the 2011-2012 Central Hockey League season.

Kicking off the first game of a "home and home" series against the Komets, Dayton fans will get a sneak peek of the upcoming squad with the lone preseason game inside the historic Hara Arena on Friday, October 14 at 7pm. The Gems then travel to Fort Wayne, Indiana's War Memorial Coliseum on Sunday, October 16 for a 5pm faceoff in the final tune-up before Dayton opens the regular season on the road against the Bloomington Blaze on October 22.

"These exhibition games will be a great opportunity for our guys to see some live action in preparation for the upcoming season" noted Gems head coach Brian Gratz. "It will give some guys the opportunity to earn a spot on the team and more importantly the chance for our team to really develop the chemistry needed to be hitting on all cylinders for our season opener on October 22."

Tickets for this special preseason game at Hara are only $10 for adult general admission seating and $8 for kids, while all current Gems season ticket holders receive admission for just $5 with free parking for everyone. Additionally, Gems staff will be on hand throughout the evening to assist fans with ticketing questions and service.
