Kansas City 4, Grand Prairie 1

A second-inning Jimmy Mojica double put the T-Bones on top, 1-0. And when Johnny Bowden singled in Mojica in the very next at-bat, Kansas City had all the runs it would need to beat Grand Prairie. Bowden joined T-Bones RF Ray Sadler as the only players with more than one hit. Kansas City starting pitcher Kris Johnson threw seven and two-thirds innings and allowed one run on five hits with five strikeouts to pick up the win. His only allowed run came in the fifth, when Jake Taylor sent a sacrifice fly to right that scored David Thomas.

Sioux City 3, Gary SouthShore 0

Explorers starting pitcher Richard Salazar struck out six RailCats in seven and a third scoreless innings, after which the bullpen duo of Eddie Delacruz and Emiliano Fruto took care of business in the 3-0 Sioux City win. Delacruz and Fruto threw one and two-third innings of perfect ball with two strikeouts apiece. The Sioux City offense got two of its three RBI from 3B Wally Backman, who went 2-for-4 on the night. But the first run came thanks to a second-inning Ryan Priddy single. Priddy also went 2-for-4 and scored a run.

Fargo-Moorhead 5, Lincoln 3

Six of Monday's eight runs from Fargo-Moorhead and Lincoln came on home runs. A three-run Nic Jackson homer in the fifth broke a freshly earned, 2-2 tie with Lincoln, and the RedHawks led the rest of the way before winning, 5-3. Jackson went 2-for-5 on the night, with all of his run production coming on the big, fifth-inning swing. The RedHawks briefly held a 1-0 lead before a two-run blast from Lincoln LF Rafael Alvarez in the second gave the home club its only lead of the game. Fargo-Moorhead's initial, 1-0 lead also came via the long ball, as Jesse Hoorelbeke opened the top of the second with a solo shot.

El Paso 7, Amarillo 5

His team clinging to a freshly minted, 6-5 lead in the eighth inning, El Paso DH Nelson Teilon made a break for home and quite literally stole a run to extend the Diablos' lead to 7-5. That score remained for the rest of the night. At the plate, Teilon was one of three El Paso batters with two hits, joining leadoff SS Maikol Gonzalez and CF Kory Drew. The Diablos rallied from an early 2-0 deficit and scored five runs - four unearned - to take a 5-2 lead over the Sox in the second. But Amarillo clawed back to tie the score in the middle innings. Amarillo DH Matthew Tucker tripled, scored a run and batted one in to bulster an already impressive, 2-for-4 night.

St. Paul 6, Wichita 2

The Saints five- and six-hole hitters, RF Argelis Nunez and 1B Richard Mercado, combined to score three runs and bat in two more in matching, 2-for-4 performances. They were the only Saints with more than one hit in the contest. The duo hit back-to-back, run-scoring singles in St. Paul's four-run eighth that extended a tight, 2-1 lead into a 6-1 advantage. Starting Saints pitcher Alberto Rolon struck out seven Wingnuts batters in as many innings, giving up a run on seven hits and two walks to take his eighth win of the year and lower his ERA to 3.95. Offensively for Wichita, 3B Juan Richardson went a perfect 2-for-2 and drew two walks while scoring one of his team's two runs.

Winnipeg 6, Sioux Falls 2

Goldeyes RF Kody Kaiser had more RBI (2) than the entire Sioux Falls lineup in Winnipeg's 6-2 win over the Pheasants. Kaiser went 2-for-5 on the night with both of his RBI coming on a third-inning single. That play put the Goldeyes on top, 2-0, and Sioux Falls never pulled even again. Starting Winnipeg pitcher Chris Salamida took the win, his ninth of the year, after throwing six and a third innings and allowing two runs on seven hits with six strikeouts. Goldeyes 2B Price Kendall and 3B Louis Ott each had three hits, Kendall doing so from the leadoff position.
