NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Frankie De La Cruz pitched 7.2 shutout innings as the Nashville Sounds blanked the Round Rock Express 7-0 in Pacific Coast League action Tuesday night. The Express (65-46) concluded their season-series with the Sounds (54-57), splitting the final four-game series 2-2.

De La Cruz (6-6) did not allow a run on six hits while walking two and striking out seven to earn his sixth victory of the year. Mike McClendon pitched 1.1 innings of shutout ball to preserve the win.

Nashville got on the board in the second inning on Brett Tomko's wild pitch that scored Mat Gamel. Gamel walked to leadoff the inning. The Sounds added another run in the third inning on Jordan Brown's RBI single.

The Sounds scored one run in the fifth inning on Eric Farris' RBI single. Gamel lead off the sixth inning with a solo home run to put Nashville up 4-0. Gamel added another solo home run in the seventh inning. He now has 23 home runs on the season.

Nashville tacked on two more runs in the eighth inning on Brown's two-RBI double. The Sounds scored in every inning except the first and the fourth.

Tomko (5-4) got the loss, pitching 6.0 innings while allowing four runs - two earned - on eight hits with four walks and four strikeouts. Pedro Strop and Darren O'Day each pitched an inning, combining to allow three earned runs on three hits.

Nick Green and Guilder Rodriguez each had two hits for the Express, accounting for four of the Express' six hits.

Round Rock committed four errors, tying a season-high. Kevin Cash, Joey Butler, Green and Esteban German each had an error.

The Express return to The Dell Diamond tomorrow night to begin an eight-game homestand, with the first four games against the Salt Lake Bees. Right-hander Eric Hurley (6-0, 3.73 ERA) will get the start for the Express, while righty Jerome Williams (5-2, 4.35 ERA) is scheduled to take the mound for Salt Lake.
