Warriors Announce 3 Players Headed To Wisconsin-Stevens Point

The Michigan Warriors are proud to announce that 3 members of the 2011 Robertson Cup Finals team will continue their careers and play college hockey at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Forwards Andrew Kolb, Scott Henegar, and Defenseman Kevin Gibson, will continue their hockey careers playing for new Stevens Point Head Coach Chris Brooks. The Pointers play in the nine-team NCAA Division III Northern Collegiate Hockey Association.

Gibson, Kolb and Henegar were core members of the Michigan Warriors team that fell in the Robertson Cup championship game to the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.

Andrew Kolb led the Warriors in goals, assists and scoring with 65 points in 44 games played, while Henegar, also the Warriors captain was third on the team in scoring in the regular season, and showed his leadership during the Warriors Robertson Cup playoff run leading the team in Power-Play goals and goals scored during the playoffs.

Gibson was the Warriors 3rd leading scoring Defenseman during the regular season despite playing in only 27 games for the Warriors after being acquired from the USHL Sioux City Musketeers. Gibson also chipped in 10 points in 16 games in the Warriors Robertson Cup playoff run.

Coach Moe Mantha said that he "is proud of the fact that the Warriors are producing players that are able to contribute both on and off the ice at the next level."

UW-Stevens Point coach Chris Brooks said "I've heard nothing but positive things about these players and we are excited to have them a part of the Pointer's program. They will be getting an excellent opportunity to contribute to our team from the start".
