LAREDO, TX: The Laredo Bucks, of the Central Hockey League, announced Thursday that they have signed Bill McCreary and Rusty Masters for the 2011-2012 season.

Bill McCreary is 29 years old from Howell, Michigan. McCreary played the last five seasons with the Huntsville Havoc (SPHL). Last season he was the player/assistant coach for the team as well. During his pro career, he has also played a total of 11 games in the Central Hockey League with the New Mexico Scorpions and the Texas Brahmas.

The 5'10", 174 pound defenseman appeared in 49 games last year. He had 2 goals and 30 assists with a total of 32 points during the regular season. McCreary also appeared in 2 playoff games, where he had 2 more assists. During his pro career he has played a total of 237 games, scoring 23 goals with 125 assists.

"Billy comes to us with 5 years of pro hockey experience between the CHL and the SPHL," states Head Coach Dube. "He isn't very big, but he plays the role well and I think he will be a fan favorite this season."

Rusty Masters is 25 years old from Grafton, Ontario. Masters split time last season between the Mississippi Surge (SPHL) and the Mississippi Riverkings (CHL). Before turning pro, he attended Elmira College where he was called up for 2 games to the Elmira, Jackals (ECHL).

The 6'0", 185 pound center appeared in 51 regular season games and 8 playoff games last year. He played 10 regular season games for the Riverkings scoring 1 goal and 5 assists. He also played 41 regular season games for the Surge notching 21 goals and 28 assists. He then appeared in 8 playoff games with the Surge, where he had 4 goals and 7 assists.

"Rusty Masters is a solid center that led the Mississippi Surge to win the SPHL title last season," states Head Coach Dube. "He had a great college career and I believe he will only get better."

With the addition of McCreary and Masters, the Bucks now have 9 players signed for the 2011-2012 season.
