Roughriders Hold Missions Offense In Check During 6-1 Win

The San Antonio Missions lost the second-game of their series to the Frisco RoughRiders Tuesday night 6-1. Frisco starter Joe Weiland and two relievers combined to hold San Antonio to a season-low two hits, as the Missions dropped to 15-9 in the second-half and 64-30 overall.

The RoughRiders scored five of their runs in five innings off San Antonio starter Simon Castro who has now lost four starts in a row.

The Missions lone run came from a solo homer off the bat of Andy Parrino in the sixth. Parrino has now hit 11 of his 12 games since joining San Antonio from Triple-A Tucson and he's recorded an RBI in seven consecutive games.

Tonight was just the Missions fifth loss in 32 games when they've homered at The Wolff.

Game three of the series is tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. Right-hander Casey Kelly (9-3, 4.18 ERA) starts for San Antonio and while Frisco will counter with left-hander Richard Bleier (3-3, 5.81 ERA).

Tomorrow is military appreciation night presented by Dr Pepper and in honor of the military, the Missions will wear camouflage jerseys.

As always, the Missions can be heard on the home of the Missions KKYX 680 AM with the voices of the Missions, Roy Acuff and Mike Saeger calling all the action.
