TODAY'S GAME:

Tonight, the Bisons begin a four-game series against the Norfolk Tides at Coca-Cola Field (7:35 p.m.). The Bisons are coming off a 3-5 roadtrip that began on June 16 and included a split of a four-game series against the Tides. Tonight's game also marks the start of a season-long 10-game homestand against the Tides, IronPigs, and Chiefs.

VS. THE TIDES:

The Bisons split a four-game series against the Tides last week in Norfolk. Since 2009, the Herd has won 12 of the last 19 games in the match-up against the Tides. Buffalo took three games of a four-game set the last time Norfolk visited Coca-Cola Field (May 14-17, 2010).

ON THE BUMP:

LHP PAT MISCH will make his seventh start for the Bisons this year tonight. The 29-year old southpaw is coming off the club's first complete game of the season as he worked seven innings in a rain-shortened contest in Norfolk on Sunday. Misch allowed two runs on four hits as the Bisons beat the Tides 16-2. On May 15, 2010, Misch threw a nine-inning complete game over the Tides in a 4-0 victory at Coca-Cola Field.

EVANS ALMIGHTY:

INF/OF NICK EVANS has the longest active hit streak currently for the Herd. The slugger has hit in 13 straight games. Evans has averaged .490 (25-51) during a streak that began in May before a month-long promotion to the Mets. Ten of the 13 games during the Evans's stretch have been multi-hit performances. Evans also leads the Bisons with 20 multi-hit games.

HAPPY RETURNS:

INF ZACH LUTZ is hitting .327 (16-49) in 13 games since being activated off the disabled list. The slugger had a double, two home runs and six RBI during the team's last roadtrip. Lutz is now hitting .318 (28-88) in 26 games with the Bisons this season.

BISONS BITS:

OF JESUS FELICIANO and INF MICHAEL FISHER lost their hit streaks of 10 games (12-38, .316) and 16 games (20-66, .303), respectively...RHP RYOTA IGARASHI has pitched scoreless relief in six straight appearances (8.0IP)...INF LUIS HERNANDEZ hit .444 (4-9) with five RBI in two games against Norfolk last week.

METS UPDATE :

The Mets (37-38) defeated Oakland yesterday by a 4-1 score. SS JOSE REYES went 2-4 with a run and two RBI. LHP CHRIS CAPUANO tossed six shutout innings with seven strikeouts to improve to 6-7 on the year. The Mets head to Texas tonight to face the Rangers for the first time this season (8:05 p.m.).
