Zephyrs, Express Suspended Due to Rain
June 21, 2011 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release
Tuesday's game between the New Orleans Zephyrs and Round Rock Express was suspended due to heavy rain and resulting unplayable field conditions.
Round Rock took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning, getting a one-out double from Julio Borbon, who then stole third and scored on a throwing error by Zephyrs catcher Brad Davis.
Omar Quintanilla followed with a home run through the downpour against Tom Koehler, before the umpires called for the tarp.
Play will resume on Thursday night at 5:00 p.m., picking up in the top of the third with one out. The clubs will finish the nine-inning contest, then play a seven-inning game to complete a doubleheader.
Thursday will be a Thirsty Thursday, with $1 sodas and draft beer, and $2 cans of beer.
All fans with tickets to Tuesday's game can redeem them for any Zephyrs game the remainder of the 2011 season.
