Sacramento Hosts Reno Aces; Includes a High Profile WagerJune 21, 2011 - Pacific Coast League (PCL) - Sacramento River Cats
Also, for the Reno series there is a little more at stake this year. The winner of this year's 16-game season series between the two teams will be awarded a classic car to be displayed at its city's car museum for three months this fall. Reno's National Automobile Museum will put up their 1949 Mercury that James Dean drove in "Rebel Without a Cause," while Sacramento's California Auto Museum will put up a 1932 Ford raced by driving legend AJ Foyt. The city that wins the majority of the 16 scheduled games in 2011 will receive the losing city's high-profile auto on-loan through November. AJ Foyt's 1932 Ford will be on display outside Raley Field Friday during the upcoming series with Reno and again during their match-up in July.
Fans can also take advantage of several recurring promotions during the homestand including U.S. Bank Sunday Funday with pregame autographs and the opportunity for kids to run the bases postgame on June 26, Seniors Eat Free Mondays presented by Eskaton on June 27, Tuesday Kids Eat Free presented by California Family Fitness on June 28, Miller Lite Thirsty Thursdays featuring $2 beers on June 30 and Toyota Family Value Fridays with $1 hot dogs and $1 desserts on July 1.
