Tonight, the SeaWolves are looking for second consecutive road series win as they take on the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) in the rubber game of a three-game series at Blair County Ballpark. Last night, the 'Wolves jumped out to a 4-0 lead and thwarted a late Curve comeback attempt en route to a 7-6 win in the middle game of the series. The win puts the SeaWolves at a game under .500 at 28-29 and improved their mark to 11-7 in one-run games. Erie has the second-best winning percentage (.611) in the league in one-run games...Tonight, righty Jacob Turner takes the mound for the SeaWolves making his 11th start and third against the Curve. Turner has taken a pair of no-decisions in his previous two starts against Altoona. Turner took his eighth no-decision in his last start against Harrisburg. He allowed three runs on six hits with two walks and five strikeouts in 7.1 innings of work. Turner left leading, only to watch the bullpen squander away the advantage. The 'Wolves won the game 6-5 in 10 innings...Righty Mike Colla takes the mound for Altoona making his 14th appearance and ninth start. His last eight appearances have been starts. In his most recent start against Portland on 6/4, Colla allowed four runs on seven hits with a walk and six strikeouts in six innings of work in a losing effort. The loss snapped a string of three consecutive wins for the Curve right hander. Colla has made two appearances against Erie, one start, and he is 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA.

Altoona makes one more trip to Erie in July.- Defensively, the SeaWolves have committed 55 errors which is third-most in the EL. Altoona has committed 52 errors (fifth-most)- The SeaWolves are 21-19 in night games and 7-10 in day games.- Erie's pitching staff is ninth in the league with a 4.31 team ERA. The SeaWolves have given up 274 runs which is the second-most allowed in the league. Erie has issued 209 walks which is the most allowed in the EL.- The SeaWolves are third in the EL with 275 runs scored. - Erie's offense is third in the league with a .268 team batting average.- The 'Wolves are hitting .254 with RISP, .235 with two outs and RISP and .273 with runners on base.- As a team, the SeaWolves are 10-for-42 with the bases loaded.- The 'Wolves are 12-17 away from Jerry Uht Park.- Erie is 16-20 against the Western Division.- Justin Henry is second in the EL with a .333 average and is second in EL with a .444 on-base percentage. Henry has reached base safely in 34 of his last 35 games. The only game he has not reached base safely in since May 1 was game one of a doubleheader on 5/31 at Binghamton.- Jamie Johnson leads the team and is fourth in the league with 32 walks.
