Governor Shumlin Enthusiastic About The Arrival Of The Rock Crushers

Jay Peak, VT March 22, 2011 - Today, staff members of the Green Mountain Rock Crushers had the opportunity to shake hands with the Governor of Vermont, Peter Shumlin, at the Taste of Vermont.Governor Shumlin expressed enthusiastic support for the first ever professional hockey team in the Green Mountain State, saying that the team's arrival is "very exciting for the state to have this team in Vermont."
The Taste of Vermont was sponsored by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce.The event showcased several Vermont-based businesses in the tourism and hospitality industries and was attended by several Vermont politicians.
Rock Crushers Governor and General Manager Andy Makal added, "It's a tremendous honor to talk with Governor Shumlin and have his support for what we're doing. It's nice to know that someone of his position understands and embraces the concept of a professional hockey team in Vermont as a benefit to the state's residents, businesses, communities and visitors."
Makal hopes it won't be the last time the team crosses paths with the Governor. "We're hoping that the Governor can arrange his schedule to make it to the first home game in October," stated Makal. "We'd love to have him drop the first puck."
