Kansas City Command News Release

Another hometown player joins the COMMAND as Central Missouri State University wide reciever Todd Devoe signs with the Arena Football League to play for Kansas City.

While at CMSU, Devoe posted 98 receptions for 1,971 yards (20.1 avg.) with 21 touchdowns and finished his career ranked second in receiving yards and eighth in receptions. As a senior, Devoe led CMSU in receptions for the second consecutive year with 58 catches, which tied for the highest single-year reception total in school history and also setg a school single-season record with 12 touchdowns.

Devoe's professional career includes playing for the NFL's Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins, and the Tennessee Titans. As an Arena Football player, he played for the Arizona Rattlers, and most recently, the Chicago Rush.

Devoe joins Kearney, MO native and Mizzou receiver Tommy Saunders, along with former Chief players Michael Landry and Rashad Barksdale.

Head Coach Danton Barto remarked that "it's always good when you can bring in players that have ties to the local community. Kansas City is very much a football town and I think the fans really appreciate it when teams go out of their way to put players on the field from Kansas and Missouri."

The COMMAND takes to the road again this week to go after the Tampa Bay Storm. After winning their home opener against Iowa, and defeating the division-leading Chicago Rush, Kansas City's AFL team is hoping to get two consecutive wins on the road to bring back to the fans at Sprint Center for its rematch against last season's Arena Bowl champions the Spokane Shock.
