Atlanta Dream News Release

ATLANTA, April 11, 2011 - The Atlanta Dream announced today the team has acquired guard Lindsey Harding from the Washington Mystics in a sign-and-trade deal.

The Dream sent guard Kelly Miller, the team's 2011 No. 8 overall draft pick Ta'Shia Phillips and a first round pick in 2012 to the Mystics in exchange for Harding and a second round pick in 2012.

"Lindsey is a proven point guard and leader on the court," said Head Coach & General Manager Marynell Meadors. "Her ability to push the tempo and be an offensive threat fits our style and will compliment what we already have. We are excited to add a player of her caliber to our team."

Harding, a 5-8 guard, earned her first All-Star selection in 2010 and helped the Mystics to the Eastern Conference regular season title. She started every game for the Mystics the past two seasons. Harding averaged 12.1 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds per game last season.

Harding was originally selected with the first overall pick in the 2007 draft by the Phoenix Mercury and was traded to the Minnesota Lynx on draft day. She spent her first two seasons in Minnesota before being traded to Washington in January 2009. She played collegiately at Duke University where she was the two-time ACC Defensive Player of the Year and only the second player in school history to register over 1,000 points, 500 assists, 500 rebounds and 250 steals.

"Kelly Miller was tremendous in her role for us and integral to our success," said Dream General Manager and Head Coach Marynell Meadors. "We are grateful for her contributions and wish her success in Washington."

Miller appeared in 30 games for the Dream last season, averaging 3.6 points, 1.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game.

The Atlanta Dream is the defending Women's National Basketball Association's (WNBA) Eastern Conference Champion. The team tips off the 2011 season at home on June 5 against the New York Liberty at Philips Arena. The Dream enters its fourth season this summer as part of the WNBA, the world's longest-running women's professional sports league.
