Thinel Named CHL's Player of the Month

ODESSA, TX - The Central Hockey League announced today that Odessa Jackalopes forward, Sebastien Thinel, has been named the league's Player of the Month for March. Thinel recorded 29 points in 14 games during the month, scoring 15 goals and adding 14 assists.

This is the second time this season Thinel has received Player of the Month honors. He was also won the award in November after scoring 25 points. Thinel finished the regular season with 110 points on the season to secure his second Joe Burton Scoring Title in the last three years.

The St. Jerome, Quebec native also tied a franchise record with 75 assists during the season. This is his fourth Player of the Month award over the last three years - he also won in February 2009 and February 2010.

The Jackalopes being their playoff run Thursday when visit the Texas Brahmas for game one of their best-of-five, opening round series. Game time is set for 7:00 PM.

The Odessa Jackalopes are the Central Hockey League affiliate for the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The team is currently in the middle of its 14th season.
