San Antonio Rampage News Release
HISPANIC HERITAGE WEEKEND-Mar. 12-13: The Rampage will host Hispanic Heritage Weekend this Satur- day and Sunday. This Saturday will feature a pregame performance by The Worx and the original Big Foot (monster truck) will be on display starting at 6 p.m. at the Budlight Courtyard. Grammy-Award winning band Los Texmaniacs will perform postgame at the Budlight Court- yard.
FIRE IN THE HOLE: The Rampage netted a season-high five goals during the third period on March 4 at Texas Stars. The goals came from five different Rampage skaters. This feat is one goal shy of the franchise record of six goals scored in one period held on Oct. 17, 2009 vs. Grand Rapids.
OFFENSIVE DEFENESEMAN: Garrett Stafford not only leads the team in points with 40 on 12 goals and 28 assists, but he also has recorded the 10th-highest point total among AHL blue liners so far this season. Stafford is also second in the league among defense- men in power-play assists with 18.
COMING THROUGH IN THE CLUTCH: The Rampage have acquired the most points this season in games decided by only one goal earning 29 of the team's 73 points. San Anto- nio is 13-4-3-0 in those contests with four of San Antonio's last five games being decided by one goal.
IN THE HOME STRETCH: The Rampage earned their 35th win as they have now worked their way through 75 percent of the season (60 games). This is the most wins in franchise history that the Rampage have reached at this point in the season.
ICE CHIPS: Matt Pope- Forward
Forward Matt Pope collected two points during this last week after scoring the game-winning goal in the Rampage's 3-2 win over Ab- botsford on March 2 and notching an assist vs. the Syracuse Crunch on Saturday night.
Pope has registered four goals and six assists for 10 points in 38 games with San Antonio this season. He is three points shy of reach- ing his 100th career professional point.
The Langley, British Columbia native spent two seasons in Manitoba prior to arriving in the Alamo City where he played in 48 games and tallied five goals and eight assists for 13 points.
Pope signed a professional try-out (PTO) with the Rampage on October 10, 2010.
