Rivermen Sign Chris Langkow to PTO

Peoria Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald announced Saturday that the club has signed forward Chris Langkow to a professional tryout contract. He will join the team in time for tonight's game against the Chicago Wolves.

Langkow, 21, was named the ECHL Rookie of the Month for February on Thursday, and has nine points in his last four ECHL games. The Vegreville, Alberta native has 36 points (15g, 21a) in 53 games this season, and is second on the Aces with a plus-11 rating.

He represented Alaska at the 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic in Bakersfield and scored two goals in the ECHL All-Stars 9-3 win over the Condors. Langkow entered the weekend tied for 12th in ECHL rookie scoring this season, alongside current Aces teammate, Kory Falite.

Last season, Langkow skated for the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League and accumulated 59 points (21g, 38a) in 69 games. He also appeared in one game for the Saskatoon Blades.
