Komet Kevin Reiter Named Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week

Fort Wayne, IN. | Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011 -- The CHL announced Tuesday that Fort Wayne's Kevin Reiter has been named the Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending Feb. 13.
Reiter, 29, won all three appearances during the week allowing only one goal on 70 shots for a 0.33 goals-against average and .986 save percentage. Reiter began the week with a 21-save performance for a 7-1 win against the visiting Bloomington PrairieThunder Wednesday before snagging back-to-back 2-0 shutouts Saturday at Dayton and Sunday at home against Evansville.
The Komet netminder was successful on all 16 penalty kills during the week and has not allowed a power play goal on 19 straight penalty kills over his last four appearances.
Reiter completed the week with a five-game winning streak, a shutout minutes streak of 121:11 and improved to 8-8-1 on the season. The Pittsburgh native currently ranks third among CHL goalies with a 2.42 goals-against average.
The Komets get ready for another busy week ahead with four games in five nights. The K's travel to Bloomington Wednesday, return home to welcome Dayton Friday for an 8pm faceoff and then get back on the road to Quad City Saturday. The Komets will host Dayton for another 5pm matinee home tilt next Sunday.
