Jared Ross Joins Rivermen

Peoria Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald announced today that the club has signed defenseman Jared Ross to a professional tryout contracts (PTO). He is expected to join the team in time for tonight's game against the Milwaukee Admirals.

Ross, 26, has played in 38 games with the Reading Royals (ECHL) this season and has compiled 19 points (five goals, 14 assists) and plus-6 rating. Last season, the 6-foot, 199-pould defenseman played the majority of the season in the American Hockey League with the Providence Bruins. He appeared in 48 games and collected seven points (one goal, six assists) and 14 penalty minutes with the Bruins and also saw action in 21 games with Reading.

A native of Stoney Island, NS, Ross played four seasons at St. Lawrence University (2005-09) before turning pro.

The Rivermen conclude their four-game road trip tonight in Milwaukee at 7 p.m. The game can be heard locally on 96.5 ESPN Radio in Peoria.
