B-Sens Sign Forward Andrew Sweetland

January 16, 2011 - American Hockey League (AHL) Binghamton Senators

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today that they have signed forward Andrew Sweetland to a professional try-out contract.

Sweetland, 24, spent the 2009-10 season with the Rochester Americans where he recorded 13 points (five goals, eight assists) and ten penalty minutes in 51 games.

The native of Bonavista, Newfoundland has appeared in 30 games with the B-Sens' ECHL affiliate Elmira Jackals this season where he has recorded 17 goals, four assists and added ten penalty minutes. He ranks first among Jackals in game winning goals with four.

Sweetland played for the University of Maine during the 2007-08 season scoring eight goals and adding nine assists in 28 career games with the Black Bears. Prior to playing in Maine, he spent the 2006-07 season with the Amherst Ramblers of the Maritime Junior Hockey League where he set a club record for points with 117 (56 goals, 61 assists) in 54 games.

The B-Sens return to action tonight as they host the Hershey Bears at 5:05 p.m. Tickets are $17.75 for side seating, $16.75 for end seating.
