Bucks Blitzed in Allen 7-3

ALLEN, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League fell to the Allen Americans 7-3 Saturday night at the Allen Event Center. The Bucks two game winning streak comes to an end as they fall to 13-16-5 (31 points).

Allen jumped out in front of the Bucks with two first-period power-play goals to take a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.

David Nimmo re-directed Tobias Whelan's shot from the point on the power-play just 4:10 into the first period. The goal was Nimmo's seventh of the season.

The Americans would go up 2-0 a little over three minutes later at the 7:16 mark when Scott Langdon jammed a pass right in front of the net on the power-play. The goal was Langdon's second of the campaign.

Laredo was outshot 21-2 in the first period, with Bucks setting a season-low for shots in a period.

The Americans would explode for four goals in the second period to increase their lead to 6-1 after 40 minutes of play.

Jarret Luken would put Allen up 3-0 just 2:24 into the second period when he picked up a loose puck right in front of the Bucks net and jammed it in. The goal was Luken's 10th of the season.

Laredo would cut the Allen lead to 3-1 at the 6:36 mark of the second period when Brian Matte scored a shorthanded goal on an odd-man rush from the right circle. The goal was Matte's fourth of the season and his third in two games. Laredo has just two shorthanded goals this season..

Allen would then strike for three straight goals to increase their lead to 6-1.

Nino Musitelli scored on an odd-man rush at the 10:56 mark to score his team-leading 19th of the season.

Less than one minute later Erick Adams would get credit for a goal after the puck bounced off of the back wall and under the glove of Pier Pelletier. The goal was Adam's sixth of the season.

After Adam's goal and the Bucks down 5-1 Laredo would replace Pelletier with Torrie Jung. Pelletier stopped 30 of 35 shots while Jung stopped eight of 10.

Allen would make it 6-1 with 5:32 left in the second when Whelan jammed in a pass from Kip Brennan on the left side of the crease to net his 10th of the season.

Laredo was outshot 16-10 in the second period.

Luken would score his second of the game and his 11th of the season when he scored on a backhander 4:31 into the third.

The Bucks could cut the Americans lead to 7-2 when Justin Styffe scored from the right circle 8:06 into the third period to net his seventh of the season and tie his career high in goals.

Reid Edmondson scored with 36 seconds left in the third to make it 7-3 Americans ahe he picked up his fifth of the season.

The Bucks outshot the Americans 15-8 in the third but were outshot 45-27 in the game.
