Brawlers Host Open House & Announce Player Signings Along with New Co-Owner

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK. : The Oklahoma City Bricktown Brawlers held a special open house gathering from the Courtyard by Marriott OKC Downtown Bricktown on Thursday, December 16. Team Owner, Dale Morris, as well as Brawlers Front Office & Coaching Staff representatives were on hand to make several announcements during a scheduled press conference. The organization began the press conference by emphasizing on the direction of the team as a newly based member of the Indoor Football League.

"The Indoor Football League is an exciting league that features great talent and we are excited to be a part of it. We want this organization to be Oklahoma City's team, and our involvement with the community on a consistent basis is an essential priority in terms of the direction for this team. Our organization is offering innovative ways of sports marketing for Oklahoma City as well as all the surrounding communities. We are eager about the new era and direction for the Bricktown Brawlers, and we have great things ahead for the upcoming season." stated Bricktown Brawlers Team Owner Dale Morris.

BRAWLERS SIGN FORMER SOONERS DEFENSIVE LINEMEN STEVE COLEMAN & ADDITIONALLY SIGN OL KEVIN MYERS FOR THE 2011 SEASON -

The Bricktown Brawlers additionally announced on Thursday, December 16 that the organization has signed former University of Oklahoma defensive linemen Steve Coleman & former UFL offensive linemen Kevin Myers for the 2011 season. Steve Coleman spent four seasons at Oklahoma and posted a breakout season in 2006 with three sacks. Kevin Myers played collegiately at New Mexico Highlands University and recently spent the 2010 season with the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the UFL.

DL Steve Coleman Ht. 6'4" Wt. 325 lbs. Oklahoma -

Steve Coleman brings arena football experience to the Brawlers in 2011 after spending the 2010 season in the AFL. In 2010, Coleman posted four total tackles with a 0.5 sack and one forced fumble in five games played with Oklahoma City. Prior to his professional football career, Coleman spent four seasons with the Oklahoma program and enjoyed a breakout season in 2006. In 2006, Coleman recorded 14 total tackles including a season-high four tackles against Texas with three sacks, and seven tackles for loss in 14 games played. In 2005, Coleman posted six total tackles and recorded tackles for loss in games against TCU and Tulsa.

OL Kevin Myers Ht. 6'6" Wt. 338 lbs. New Mexico Highlands -

Offensive linemen Kevin Myers is an experienced offensive linemen who recently spent this fall playing with the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the UFL. Prior to his time in Sacramento, Myers spent the 2010 season in the AFL with Oklahoma City at the offensive tackle position. Myers compiled an impressive college career at New Mexico Highlands University following his stand out high school career at Manual Arts Senior High School in Los Angeles, CA.

"We want to build a solid team up front and we believe both Steve and Kevin will be major contributors on both sides of the football. They have good experience and both will help us compete for a championship this season." stated Bricktown Brawlers Head Coach Steve Perdue.

FORMER LEGENDARY SOONERS QUARTERBACK TO BECOME CO-OWNER OF BRICKTOWN BRAWLERS -

In addition to today's announcements, the Bricktown Brawlers are excited to announce on Thursday, December 16 that former legendary Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Jason White will become the new Co-Owner of the Oklahoma City Bricktown Brawlers. White, who played for the University of Oklahoma from 1999 to 2004, won the prestigious Heisman Trophy Award in 2003 after throwing for 3,846 yards and 40 touchdown passes. White would lead the Sooners to back-to-back BCS National Championship Game appearances in 2003 & 2004.

"This is an incredible moment for the Bricktown Brawlers and we are absolutely thrilled to have Jason White as the new Co-Owner. We believe Jason holds the same values as our organization in which our involvement with the Oklahoma City community is a priority. With his help and support, the Bricktown Brawlers Professional Indoor Football organization will be heading in the right direction." stated Bricktown Brawlers Team Owner Dale Morris.

In addition to winning the Heisman Trophy Award in 2003, White was also the recipient of the Associated Press Player of the Year Award as well as the Davey O'Brien Award and Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year Award. White would become a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2004 after throwing for 3,205 yards and 35 touchdown passes. White finished his collegiate career as the University of Oklahoma's all-time leader in career passing yards (8,012) and touchdown passes (81). Currently, White owns and operates The Jason White Companies.
