Condors Return Home this Weekend

Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors finished the week posting a 1-2-0-0 record as they ventured out on the road for the first time since November 7. The Condors are now 8-12-1-0 this season and are fourth in the Pacific Division, nine points behind first place Stockton.

Condors 5 vs. ONTARIO 4

The Condors and Reign traded goals in the first period. C Adam Naglich got the Condors on the board first to give them a 1-0 lead for the first time in four games. The Reign answered to tie it up after one. The Condors regained the lead with two goals in the span of 1:33 mid-way through the second, as F Mark Magnowski and RW Stephane Goulet each scored. C Brett O'Malley cut the Condors lead to just one, as the second period ended with the Condors leading 3-2. Each team scored twice in the third, with F Carter Smith and RW Erick Lizon striking for Bakersfield as the Condors held on for a 5-4 win.

Friday, Dec. 3 TOLEDO 4 vs. Condors 3

Toledo jumped out to a 2-0 lead when D Kyle Page and C Peter Leblanc scored in the first period for the Walleye. The score remained 2-0 until late in the second period, when Bakersfield D J.F. David picked up his third goal of the year on a rebound in front of the net. The Condors trailed 2-1 going into the third period. LW Willie Coetzee restored the two goal lead with a power play goal early in the third. C Adam Naglich answered with a power play goal of his own at the 6:42 mark, but once again Toledo struck back to go up 4-2. Naglich picked up his second of the game with 57 seconds left to put the Condors back within one, but the comeback fell just short as the Walleye hung on for the 4-3 win.

Saturday, Dec. 4

TOLEDO 6 vs. Condors 4

F Andrew Ianiero played in his 417th game as a Condor to break the all-time record of 416 held by Paul Rosebush, and he scored the opening goal shorthanded to put the Condors up 1-0. The lead lasted just 18 seconds before the Walleye evened the score at 1-1 on that same power play. LW Andy Bohmbach scored just 58 seconds into the second period, but newly signed D Joe Rullier scored a power play goal for Bakersfield, as the two teams went tied 2-2 into the third. Bohmbach picked up his second of the night, but his goal was answered immediately by F Jean-Marc Beaudoin. Ianiero added his second goal to give Bakersfield a 4-3 lead at 11:37, but the Condors surrendered 3 goals in the final 3 minutes of the game, including an empty netter, and the Walleye picked up the 6-4 victory.

PLAYER AND TEAM NOTES:

F Andrew Ianiero broke the Condors record for games played when he played in his 417th game on Saturday. The record was previously held by Paul Rosebush. He is also 14th all-time in the ECHL with 552 games played. G Josh Tordjman finished serving a six-game ECHL suspension on Wednesday and played in both games in Toledo. D Joe Rullier played in his first game as a Condor on Saturday and scored a goal. The Condors have scored at least one power play goal in each of the last 5 games. Both Condors goaltenders have faced a penalty shot this season, and both made the save, with Tordjman's coming Saturday night. Bakersfield goalies have stopped 14 of 20 penalty shots faced in team history. D J.F. David, F Slava Trukhno and C Adam Naglich each have a current 5-game point streak, they are tied for a season-high for the team. The Condors are 8-5-0 on days Sunday through Friday, but are 0-7-1 on Saturdays. Friday's game in Toledo was the first for the Condors against an Eastern Time Zone opponent since the 2007-08 campaign. LW J.D. Corbin, RW Pascal Morency and RW Bobby Robins all remain on the 21-day IR, though all three are now eligible to be activated. D Jay Cascalenda remains on the 3-day IR. C Rylan Kaip did not play in Saturday's game and is expected to miss Tuesday's game as well.

ON THE DOCKET:

The Condors finish the road trip on Tuesday, December 7, in Cincinnati before returning to Rabobank Arena against Stockton on December 10 and Ontario on December 11.

The Condors will be back home on December 10 and 11 to play the Stockton Thunder and Ontario Reign, respectively. Friday, Dec. 10 is Makeover Giveaway Night, sponsored by Bright House Networks and Spa Euphora. On Saturday, the Condors are holding the All-Star Classic Jersey Off Our Backs Raffle and Auction, courtesy of ABC23, 96.5 Max FM, and American Business Machines. game-worn jerseys previewing the ECHL All-Star Classic to be held in Bakersfield next month, will be auctioned off after the game, plus everyone in attendance has a chance to win one of five to be given away! All proceeds from the jersey auction will be donated to the Petroleum Shrine Club.

Friday's game will be joined in progress over terrestrial airwaves, pending the conclusion of the Los Angeles Lakers game (at Chicago, 5 p.m. PT).
