New York Red Bulls News Release
SECAUCUS, NJ (Nov. 22, 2010) â Red Bull New York announced today that it has acquired a third round 2011 MLS SuperDraft pick from the Portland Timbers in exchange for midfielder/defender Jeremy Hall.
"We want to thank Jeremy for his service to the club," said Red Bull New York General Manager and Sporting Director Erik Soler. "We think that this is a mutually beneficial decision for Jeremy and the club. At his age and given his bright future, Jeremy needs to play more matches and we believe that this is the best move for him."
Hall was drafted by the Red Bulls in the first round (11th overall) in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft out of the University of Maryland. Playing both at right back and in the midfield, Hall played 37 regular season games and made 31 starts over his two years in New York, logging two assists.
The Red Bulls finished their first season at Red Bull Arena â the premier soccer facility in North America â by completing the biggest turnaround in MLS history, winning the regular season Eastern Conference crown. Led by MLS Coach of the Year finalist Hans Backe, the Red Bulls boast Designated Players Thierry Henry and Rafa Marquez, MLS Newcomer of the Year finalist Joel Lindpere and recent U.S. Men's National Team debutants Juan Agudelo and Tim Ream.
