Storm Acquire Goalie Holden from Lancers

KEARNEY, Neb. - Tri-City Storm Head Coach and General Manger Drew Schoneck announced Wednesday morning that the Storm have acquired goalie Christopher Holden from the Omaha Lancers and Billings Bulls (
NorPac Hockey League). Terms of the agreement between the teams are undisclosed.
Holden, who was voted an All-Star Rookie Goalie in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League two seasons ago, played two games this season with the Lancers and had a record of 1-1-0 with a 2.02 goals-against average and .920 save percentage.
"We felt we needed to upgrade our goaltending for the team, and we believe that we did this by acquiring Chris, who has an impressive resume," Schoneck said about the 20-year old veteran goalie from Marlton, NJ. "We hope that with Scotty (Scott Diebold) playing well right now, and with the addition of Chris, this will solidify our tandem between the pipes for the season."
In two seasons, Holden played 34 games in the QMJHL with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles posting a 17-11-1 record with a 2.82 GAA and .895 SV%. He split time last season in the QMJHL and the Maritime Junior Hockey League with the Miramichi Timberwolves.
The team also announced that goalie Steven Bolton is no longer with the team.
"We wish Steven all the best in his future endeavors," Schoneck said about the second year goalie from Las Vegas, Nev. "We want to thank him for his time and service with the Storm."
Holden will wear number '1' for the Storm and will be eligible to play this Friday night against the Fargo Force at the Viaero Event Center.
