In the Win Column
The Mallards yesterday claimed their first win of the season after dropping their first three games.
Three-in-Three
The Mallards last weekend went 1-2-0 in their first three-game-in-three-night stretch of the season.
The Flock will play three games in three nights a total of 12 times this season.
Special Teams
The Mallards rank second in the league in penalty killing (90.0 percent), having survived 18 of their opponents' 20 power plays.
The Flock went 11-for-11 on the kill in back-to-back games against Evansville over the weekend.
Quad City ranks sixteenth on the power play (11.5 percent).
Red Light District
The Mallards have scored eight goals in their first four games; only the Fort Wayne Komets (three in three games) have scored fewer.
Four Score
Right wing Zac Pearson scored four of the seven goals produced by the Mallards in three games last weekend and has accounted for half of Quad City's season output of eight goals.
Pearson scored his first goal as a Mallard in last Friday's loss in Dayton, scored twice in a 6-3 loss one night later in Evansville and provided the game winning goal in yesterday's 2-1 victory over the IceMen.
He has recorded at least one point in each of the Mallards' four games.
Top Trio
Linemates Zac Pearson (4-1-5), Eric Giosa (1-3-4) and Patrik Levesque (1-2-3) are the Mallards' top three point scorers.
Members of that trio have provided six of the eight goals scored by the Mallards this season.
Between the Pipes
David Brown made a Quad City season high 31 saves yesterday on the way to his first win as a Mallard.
Brown now ranks third in the league in save percentage (.942) and fourth in goals against average (1.74).
Newcomer
Right wing Tyler Shelast played in all three of the Mallards' games over the weekend after signing with the Flock last week.
Shelast picked up his first Quad City point- an assist- in last Saturday's loss to Evansville.
Firsts
Last weekend also saw center Mike McLean pick up his first point as a Mallard.
McLean recorded an assist in last Saturday's loss at Dayton.
Center Eric Giosa scored his first goal for the Flock yesterday.

Maccarone was placed on ten day injured reserve after suffering a back injury in practice.
The Mallards last week also placed center Mark Ehl on ten day I.R. and waived center Jason Reese
Rivalry Renewed
Friday night the Mallards and Komets meet for the first time in the CHL.
Last season in the International Hockey League, the Mallards went 3-9-3 against the Komets.
